Day by Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport & Transfer to Arusha City

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly met by your safari representative. After greetings and help with your luggage, enjoy a comfortable 1-hour drive through the scenic countryside to Arusha City, the safari gateway of northern Tanzania.

Arrive at Forest Hill Hotel to check in and unwind. This boutique hotel offers modern comforts, stylish rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, and peaceful gardens. Spend the rest of the day resting after your long flight, enjoying dinner at the hotel restaurant, and preparing for the wilderness adventure starting the following morning.

Meals & Drinks: Dinner included (Breakfast and lunch not included; drinks not included).

Accommodation: Forest Hill Hotel (Mid-range hotel located near Arusha City).

  • Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park Game Drive

Enjoy breakfast at 8:00 AM before meeting your safari guide and departing for Tarangire National Park. The journey west takes approximately 2 hours on smooth tarmac roads, passing local villages and vibrant rural landscapes.

Tarangire is celebrated as a "land of giants," defined by massive ancient baobab trees that dominate the horizon and Africa's largest concentration of wild elephants. Spend a full day exploring the park's diverse habitats, following game tracks along the Tarangire River where herds of up to several hundred elephants gather to drink, bathe, and play. Keep an eye out for lions resting under acacia branches, as well as leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, and zebras roaming the savannah. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated scenic overlook inside the park. In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to your luxury lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Meals & Drinks: All meals included; all drinks included (except spirits and liquor).

Accommodation: Mawe Mawe Manyara Lodge (Luxury lodge located 1–2 hours drive from Tarangire NP).

  • Day 3: Karatu Highlands to Central Serengeti National Park

At 7:30 AM, after a hearty breakfast, set off on a scenic drive toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Your route winds upward through the cool, forested Ngorongoro Conservation Area, providing sweeping views over the volcanic highlands before descending onto the endless golden plains of the Serengeti.

As you enter the Serengeti's Seronera Valley, begin game viewing en route to your tented camp. Central Serengeti is renowned year-round for its exceptionally high density of resident big cats, including prides of lions lounging on granite kopjes, cheetahs hunting in open grasslands, and leopards resting in sausage trees. Observe large herds of buffalos, elephants, giraffes, impalas, and gazelles scattered across the savannah. Break mid-day for a bush picnic lunch surrounded by nature before continuing your afternoon game drive. Arrive at camp in the evening for a warm dinner and your first night in the Serengeti wilderness.

Meals & Drinks: All meals included; all drinks included (except spirits and liquor).

Accommodation: Central Serengeti Moyo Camp Warangi (Luxury tented camp located inside Central Serengeti NP).

  • Day 4: Full Day Central Serengeti Wildlife Safari

Depart camp early around 6:30 AM after a light breakfast to make the most of the cool morning hours when predators are actively hunting across the savannah. Spend 6 to 7 hours exploring the Central Serengeti, home to a vast population of resident wildlife including impalas, buffalos, hippos, and crocodiles.

Depending on the time of year, track the great migrating herds of over 1.5 million wildebeests, 250,000 zebras, and hundreds of thousands of gazelles as they move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. Keep your camera ready for sightings of lions patrolling their territories, cheetahs scanning the horizon from termite mounds, and leopards resting in the shade of acacia branches. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch out in the bush before returning to your luxury tented camp in the late afternoon to unwind around the campfire.

Meals & Drinks: All meals included; all drinks included (except spirits and liquor).

Accommodation: Central Serengeti Moyo Camp Warangi (Luxury tented camp located inside Central Serengeti NP).

  • Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Big Five Safari & Flight to Zanzibar

Set off early at 6:30 AM with a packed breakfast and lunch for the journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters onto the caldera floor of the Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site housing over 25,000 large animals.

Spend the morning on a game drive exploring this self-contained natural haven. Search for the legendary Big Five—including solitary bull elephants with giant tusks, black-maned lions, Cape buffalos, and the rare, endangered black rhinoceros grazing on the open grasslands. Observe pods of hippos submerged in freshwater pools and thousands of flamingos lining the shores of Lake Magadi. After a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, ascend the crater rim and transfer directly to Arusha Airport for your 5:00 PM domestic flight to Zanzibar (approx. 1 hour flight). Upon arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar, your driver will welcome you and transfer you to your beachfront resort in Kiwengwa.

Meals & Drinks: All meals included; all drinks included (except spirits and liquor).

Alternatively, take an afternoon trip to historic Stone Town—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—to wander through its labyrinth of narrow alleys, visit the House of Wonders, explore former sultan palaces, and watch the sunset from a rooftop café overlooking the harbor. If you prefer an active day on the water, arrange an optional traditional dhow sailing cruise or a dolphin-watching safari off the island's coast.
