Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport to Arusha City
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be met by your safari driver-guide. After a warm greeting and assistance with your luggage, enjoy a short transfer (approximately 50 minutes from JRO) to your accommodation in Arusha.
Spend the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure at Arusha Planet Lodge. Take a dip in the pool, relax in the lush tropical gardens, or simply rest in your deluxe room after your journey as you prepare for your safari departure the following morning.

Day 2: Arusha City to Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast at the lodge, meet your driver-guide and set off on a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, carrying packed lunch boxes for a full day of game viewing.
Tarangire is famous for its towering, ancient baobab trees and massive elephant herds that roam the savannah. The Tarangire River serves as the primary freshwater source during the dry season, attracting thousands of animals to its banks. Spend the day tracking wildlife across varied landscapes, watching for elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, and predators such as lions and tree-climbing leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature before exiting the park in the late afternoon and driving to your lodge near Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Karatu Highlands to Central Serengeti National Park
Following breakfast, depart Karatu and journey toward the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours, winding through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending onto the sweeping golden plains of the Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti.
Central Serengeti is celebrated year-round for its rich resident wildlife and predator population. Spend the afternoon on an extensive game drive tracking prides of lions resting on granite kopjes, cheetahs hunting in open grasslands, and leopards perched in acacia branches, along with herds of zebras, antelopes, and wildebeests. Break for a bush picnic lunch during the drive before heading to your luxury tented camp in the late afternoon to check in, savor dinner, and spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 4: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti National Park
Start your day early with a hearty breakfast before departing Central Serengeti for a 1.5-hour game drive northward into the remote Northern Serengeti (Kogatende area). This region is celebrated for its untouched wilderness, rolling grasslands, and dramatic wildlife action along the Mara River.
Spend the day tracking the Great Migration as vast herds of wildebeests and zebras gather along the banks of the Mara River preparing for perilous river crossings. With expert guidance, position your 4x4 near key crossing points to watch for the sudden surge of herds braving the currents and Nile crocodiles. Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the wilderness before continuing game drives across the northern plains. In the late afternoon, check into your migration tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, head out for a final morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti, focusing on migrating herds and resident predators along the Mara River ecosystem. early morning light provides ideal conditions for observing lions, leopards, and cheetahs on the hunt across open savannahs.
After a morning of wildlife viewing and a bush picnic lunch, begin your 1.5-hour drive back toward the Central Serengeti (Seronera Valley). This return journey doubles as an afternoon safari across shifting landscapes, giving you additional opportunities to spot big cats lounging on granite kopjes and large herds of plains game. Arrive at your camp in the late afternoon to relax, enjoy dinner, and spend a peaceful evening under the Serengeti stars.

Day 6: Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater & Karatu Highlands
Following breakfast, depart Central Serengeti for a 1.4-hour drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters onto the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest intact volcanic caldera—carrying a packed picnic lunch box.
Spend the day on a Big Five safari inside this self-contained natural haven. The crater floor is home to approximately 30,000 large animals, offering exceptional opportunities to view black-maned lions, solitary bull elephants, Cape buffalos, spotted hyenas, hippos, and the rare endangered black rhinoceros grazing on the open plains. Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha City
After breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, take a short 20-minute drive down the Great Rift Valley Escarpment to Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy an extensive game drive carrying packed picnic lunch boxes to explore this compact yet ecologically rich reserve.
Begin your game drive through the park’s dense groundwater forest, home to large troops of baboons, blue monkeys, and noisy hornbills. As the forest opens into acacia woodlands and floodplains, keep your eyes trained on the canopy for Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions resting in mahogany and acacia branches. Observe large elephant herds, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos along the marshy shores, while thousands of pink flamingos and waterbirds blanket the shallow alkaline lake. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch inside the park surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, exit Lake Manyara and take a 2-hour drive back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay at Arusha Planet Lodge.

Day 8: Arusha City to Airport Departure
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your lodge in Arusha on the final morning of your journey. Take advantage of your remaining time to unwind in the lodge gardens or swim in the pool.
Depending on your flight schedule, you may opt for a short shopping excursion into Arusha city to browse local craft markets for souvenirs, Tanzanite jewelry, or Tanzanian coffee. Afterward, meet your driver-guide for your private transfer to Arusha Airport (approx. 25 minutes) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (approx. 50 minutes) to check in for your onward or international departure flight, bringing your 8-day Northern Circuit migration safari to a close.
